As described in the Department of Transport 'Safety of Loads on Vehicles' Code of Practice 3rd Edition
"When a vehicle is carried on a ship, as in roll-on, roll-off ferry operations, the vehicle and its load will be subject to forces due to the rolling and pitching motions of the vessel. A restraint system that is suitable for road use will not necessarily be adequate at sea."
We suggest that vehicle operators ensure that their vehicle load restraint systems are capable of withstanding the additional forces which may be encountered on a ferry at sea.
